Advanced Healthcare Solutions tries to simplify the process by providing fertility treatments guidance and support.

Polycystic Ovarian Syndrome, or PCOS (also known as Stein-Leventhal syndrome), is the most common hormonal disorder among women of reproductive age, affecting approximately 1 in 15 women approximately 10% of all women.

The goal in treating PCOS is to focus on nutrition/diet and weight loss. One of the goals is to balance out blood sugar so that there is a decrease in insulin resistance that will improve insulin sensitivity.

Functional/Chinese medicine treats the underlying causes and imbalances with PCOS to correct the problem at its root, allowing your body to self regulate and return to a normal menstrual cycle.

At AHS we utilize time tested protocols which include Acupuncture, nutritional support, stress management and specific herbal medicines to assist you to return to a normal cycle, reduce weight, improve your skin and reduce excessive hair growth.

Endometriosis is abnormal growth of endometrial tissue outside the endometrium (uterine lining).
Endometriosis is considered in both Western Medicine and Traditional Chinese Medicine as an inflammatory condition.

Functional/Traditional Chinese Medicine differentiates based on patient symptoms and differential diagnosis. In each case the pattern itself must be treated using Acupuncture, nutritional support, stress management and herbal medicines to assist in reducing inflammation and improve uterine receptivity to improve implantation.

At AHS we encourage a detailed and thorough evaluation of each partner to determine the causes of infertility.

We encourage all of our male patients to get Acupuncture even if the identified patient is the female. As mentioned earlier, in the unexplained infertility for women, the same goes for men; very often we are treating idiopathic or sub-fertile considerations. Measuring sperm motility, count, and morphology helps create a well-rounded and useful diagnosis.

In the case of male infertility, Acupuncture and herbs have been able to increase motility and count, improve morphology, and eliminate infections.

At AHS we understand the pressure and anxiety that occurs when couples are working through fertility issues.

The hormone, Follicle Stimulating Hormone (FSH), is produced by the pituitary gland, and is used by the body to stimulate eggs to grow and develop within the ovaries. A woman’s FSH level is a measure of how receptive the ovaries are to being stimulated by the Pituitary gland. The more receptive the ovaries are, the less FSH is required to stimulate normal follicle growth. Clinical research confirms that Acupuncture and Chinese Medicine can successfully increase blood flow to the entire pelvic region, including the reproductive organs.

“Illnesses may be identical but the persons suffering form them are different. Physicians therefore must carefully take into account the differences among people…” Hsu Ta-ch’un (1757)

This treatment plan starts a few months before the IVF/IUI cycle (greater than 4 months). During this period we assist our patients to reach their best health possible in order to create the best possible situation for a successful cycle.
One of our operating theories is that one must be healthful to get pregnant and during this preparation period, our team will work with you to improve sleep, reduce stress, improve digestion and improve blood flow to the uterus and ovaries, and increase blood production in the body.

Whether one of our patients is planning to do an IUI or IVF down the road or in the very near future, we always recommend treatment with acupuncture prior to and after the procedure.

Acupuncture along with in vitro fertility (IVF) and IUI increases the rates of conception and live births in women receiving treatment before and after their IVF and IUI.
During pre and post-treatments, patients receive acupuncture treatment before and after their embryo transfer or IUI.

Treatment with acupuncture before and after embryo transfer has been demonstrated by the meta-analysis published in the British Journal of Medicine to improve IVF success rates by 65%, continued pregnancy rates by 82%, and improve live birth rates by 91%.
